Your games, your practice, your next move

Our first community release brings game analysis, practice from your own mistakes, opening study plans and private connections to your chess data together in Gambit.

Explore and analyse

  • Set up a position in the studio, choose whose turn it is and ask Stockfish for the best move.
  • Import a board screenshot, check the recognised pieces and correct them before analysing.
  • Review your games with engine evaluations and replay the moments that matter.

Practise what matters

  • Work through your own engine-detected mistakes, with queen-fork and rook-safety workouts where reviewed game evidence supports the theme.
  • Track practice accuracy and recurring patterns in later games, with sample sizes and analysis coverage shown.
  • Build and train the openings you already play, with editable plan notes and legal move facts to help you study.

Help shape Gambit

  • Contribute board screenshots to help improve recognition.
  • Report bugs and suggest features directly from Bugs & ideas.
  • See ingestion and engine progress while your games are being processed.

Fixes and improvements

  • Ordinary rook exchanges are no longer flagged as critical rook losses.
  • Large analysis backfills are better protected against queue expiry.
  • Queen-fork flags now check legal defensive replies, and opening-style observations are separated from critical mistakes.
  • Unsupported chess variants receive a clear analysis error instead of repeatedly retrying as engine outages.

Connect your tools

  • Create expiring, read-only API or MCP tokens for a trusted client to access your own verified accounts and stored game analysis.
  • Revoke tokens in Settings at any time. Connecting a client is optional; Gambit does not automatically upload your games to an AI service.
