Richer Discord updates, easier chess.com linking and public release notes
Connect chess.com faster, follow shared games in Discord with more detail and new bot commands, and read what changed from the home page or What’s new. Clubs can run the bot on more than one Discord server at once.
Easier chess.com setup
- Verified chess.com accounts are trusted when you add them, so you can start importing games without pasting a profile token.
- Lichess still uses the bio-token ownership check. First claim still wins if two Gambit accounts try to use the same public handle.
Clearer shared game posts
- Game announcements in Discord now show how many moves were played.
- After the engine pass finishes, the same post is updated with move-quality detail, including when a brilliant move was found.
- Sharing remains opt-in from your Discord settings; nothing in this release turns announcements on by itself.
More from the Discord bot
- Use /games to browse stored games and /status to see ingestion and analysis progress for your linked accounts.
- /rating now includes your chess.com rank where Gambit has it, and shows a seven-day rating average alongside your latest stored ratings.
- /recent and private replies when you omit a player name behave as before. Use /help if you need a reminder.
Multiple club servers
- Gambit can serve several Discord servers at once, each with its own configured channels and sharing rules.
- Your personal link command still ties your Gambit account to you on the server where you run it.
Find What’s new more easily
- Release notes for each community version are public on the site, with a link from the home page.
- Signed-in players still see unread updates after login and can mark them as read; individual versions keep permanent links.
